Values are universal. They impact how we think, believe and behave. Our values make us act everyday act in a certain manner.

They help in forming cultural norms

Values aid society in taking the correct decisions in challenging situations. Thereby, improving the ability to make decisions. Values guide community to learn important necessary traits like compassion, kindness and understanding. Value education stimulates the curiosity of people as they develop their interests and values. This also aids in the development of skills in us. It also helps to foster an understanding of brotherhood and pride. The bonding helps students to be more open-minded and accepting of all cultures and religious beliefs.

Case Study

A peculiar example of how values impact communities are South Korea and Ghana.  The data of both the economies were remarkably similar in the late 1980s. The two countries had similar levels of per capita GNP.  Also, there was comparable economic divisions between manufacturing, primary products, and services. They also received the same amount of aid to their economies. Thirty years afterward, South Korea had become an industrial powerhouse with the 10th largest economy in the world. It had Multi-national corporations, and significant exports of cars, electronic equipment, and other advanced manufacturing. This too, with an income per capita that was comparable to the level of largest countries.

The same thing had not happened in Ghana where the GNP per capita was just one-fifth in South Korea’s. What could this remarkable different in the development of Ghana be explained?

There is no doubt that various factors played a part however it appeared to me that culture was to play a major role in of the reason. South Koreans valued thrift, hard work, investment, education and organization. They also valued discipline. Ghanaians were different in their values. In short, cultures count.

Values clarity gives an optimistic direction for our lives because they learn ethical values and morals. Value education can help students discover their real purpose for helping others and do their best to be the best person.

Aids in times of crisis

With age comes a vast number of obligations. It is not uncommon for people to develop feelings of emptiness. In turn, it results in the rise of mental health problems or mid-career crises, as well as an increasing sense of discontent. Value education is a way to fill in the gaps in the lives of people. Additionally, when people learn about the significance of values within the world and in their own lives, they become more committed and devoted to their dreams and goals. This is a result of the improvement of consciousness that leads to conscious and satisfying decisions. The significance of value education is highlighted when it comes to defining the process of the task and the importance of its significance. It helps instil a sense of “meaning” of what one is expected to do, and assists in developing a personality.

Self-directing individuals capable of independent thinking and behavior. We are equipped with the knowledge and capabilities to handle other people and situations on our own way. We’re not totally enslaved by our circumstances, except if we want for it to become so, or do not want to fight against them.

There is a chance that we are ‘trapped’ in the midst of poverty, but we have the option to decide how we respond to it. We can choose to do so either through accepting it with a sigh, or determined determination not to become victimized. The end result is that we might only be able to change the situation a tiny amount.

It could be as simple as feeling satisfied that we’ve tried and not feeling deflated or frustrated because we could not achieve more. Alternately, the changes we’re able to effect could be a small change that makes our lives, or neighbours ‘ lives, more pleasant. However, even a minor changes are still an improvement!

Self-realization is more than just a human body with an attached brain. Naturally, our body and our brains are vital but they’re just the start point. In addition, we possess an inner life that lets us reflect on the way we react to others and how they impact us. The inner world is brimming with emotional baggage. (Feelings emotions, thoughts and stored memories – both positive and negative – and on).These influence our behavior, often intentionally and often inadvertently. This aspect of our emotional life is often neglected or dismissed in everyday life, as well as in the academic analysis of social issues.

In this sense, we keep in our minds huge chunks of influence from society that are in the form of laws, rules, regulations as well as fashion, images from advertising and expectations of how other people will treat us and the list goes on. They will always influence our decisions and choices. Such as the stoic bureaucrat who is bound by rules or the child, who is full of laughter and full of wonder. But no behaviour is completely devoid of emotion, even though its significance is often ignored or ignored. These emotions are derived from values. The constant presence of emotion could, therefore cause us to rethink our interactions with others. For instance, from outside conversations, people’s conversations appear to be going smoothly and smoothly and everyone is enjoying sharing respect, understanding and feelings. On closer inspection, however, they reveal that they are full of ‘errors’, confusion, and miscommunication.

Also, even though we employ our cognitive abilities to justify what we do and say. However, they are not in any way more crucial than or distinct from our motivations, values and feelings. Indeed, reflexive surveillance as well as the rationalization of our conduct is infused by importance of values. Our intentions, goals and motivations are directly the basis of our daily actions and don’t just speak to the possibility of the action.

Helps learning and growth is one of the importance of values

When there is a period of transition in society the role of education is paramount to our wellbeing in the future. If values learning is there in the center of our lives can people remain in the process of developing their capabilities. And institutions be able to be open and creative in responding to the changing times. The different communities can become a source for reflection and understanding. Potential impact of knowledge to transform the pupils’ perception of their interactions with their personal, physical and ethical world.
